Pronunciation

Cultural Note
Unlike English, 'mil' is never preceded by 'un' (one): you say 'mil' not 'un mil.' However, for larger numbers you do say 'dos mil' (2000), 'tres mil' (3000), etc. In Spanish-speaking countries, a period is often used as a thousands separator and a comma for decimals: 1.000 = one thousand, 1,5 = one and a half.
📝 Example Sentences
El pueblo tiene tres mil habitantes.
The town has three thousand inhabitants.
¡Mil gracias!
A thousand thanks!
