Le presento
let me introduce you to (formal)
Pronunciation
/le pre.ˈzɛn.to/
Cultural Note
Formal introductions in Italy follow a protocol: you present the less important person to the more important one, and the younger to the elder. Using 'Le presento' (I present to You) with the capitalized Lei shows maximum respect. In informal settings, 'ti presento' (tu form) is used. Getting these social hierarchies right impresses Italians enormously.
