Polish proposals are traditionally grand affairs. The man kneels, presents a ring, and asks 'Czy wyjdziesz za mnie?' (Will you marry me?). Modern Poles are getting creative — flash mobs, treasure hunts, and surprise trips are becoming common. Some families still expect the man to ask the father's permission ('poprosić ojca o rękę córki').
